Program Description
Event Details
Kids in grades 3 and up are invited to join us for Maker Monday! A makerspace is a place for hands-on learning with all the tools for creativity. Every month will have a different theme and different tools for the kids to use. Examples include robotics, 3D pens, circuits, and more! Projects will be hands-on, open-ended and encourage inventiveness and problem-solving skills.
Join us at the library for an exciting and hands-on creative adventure where kids can design their very own embellished photo portraits! This engaging workshop invites kids to explore a variety of craft and art materials, using their imagination to turn ordinary photos into unique, one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
Participants can bring their own photographs of themselves, their pets, or family members or they can use photos provided by the library. Using an array of materials, such as markers, glitter, fabric, colored pencils, buttons, stickers, and more, kids will enhance their portraits with textures, patterns, and colors, transforming them into colorful works of art. Whether it's adding a burst of glitter to a smile or creating a textured hairdo, the possibilities are endless! At the end of the workshop, kids will take home their custom embellished portraits as a lasting memory of their artistic journey!
Registration is required.
