Inspired by our Whitehall Reads selection, American Sirens, the library is proud to champion our region’s own hometown heroes, the Medical Rescue Team South Authority (MRTSA)!
In this special presentation, the first responders will discuss their daily operations, the types of calls they encounter, and how they respond to certain incidents. They’ll also share what to expect when you call 911 as well as special tips and techniques to manage how to act in an emergency.

Bio: Medical Rescue Team South Authority (MRTSA) is a municipal authority serving Baldwin Township, Castle Shannon, Dormont, Green Tree, Mount Lebanon, and Whitehall. MRTSA is a 911 only operator, averaging approximately 10,000 calls for service per year. MRTSA operates all ALS ambulances with a minimum of 1 paramedic and 1 EMT on every ambulance. MRTSA began providing medical care in 1976 and has been innovating prehospital medicine ever since.
