Mark your calendars for this unique and free concert by a capella group, The Debatable Choir.
Time: Wednesday, January 21st from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Concert begins at 7:30 pm.
The Debatable Choir is an amateur a capella choral group whose members belong to the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a medieval and renaissance re-enactment group that was founded in 1965 in Berkley, CA.
At SCA events, we dress in period costumes and recreate the culture and crafts of the time period, ranging from martial pursuits like combat, archery, and equestrian activities, to arts and crafts like cooking from period recipes, weaving, metal and woodworking, calligraphy and illumination, and music.
The Pittsburgh chapter, called the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, began in 1973 and boasts over 300 members.
Our performance features pieces by renowned renaissance composers like Orlando di Lasso, Hans Leo Hassler, John Bennet, Ludovico da Viadana, and everyone's favorite, Anonymous!
